Monitoring Features
VantaStatus
Monitoring Russian Internet Availability
Platform Overview
VantaStatus provides a unified monitoring dashboard for HTTP endpoints, SSL certificates, ICMP ping, DNS resolution, and TCP port availability. The platform runs checks from probe nodes in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Novosibirsk, delivering sub-60-second resolution for uptime, latency, and certificate expiry tracking. Teams use VantaStatus to maintain public status pages, automate alerting through Telegram and Slack, and generate monthly SLA reports for stakeholders.
Core Tools
Feature Grid
HTTP(S) Endpoint Monitoring
Continuous GET/HEAD checks against your web services with configurable intervals from 30 seconds to 15 minutes. VantaStatus validates HTTP status codes (200–299 pass, 4xx/5xx fail), measures response time, and optionally matches body content via regex. Custom request headers, bearer tokens, and TLS SNI are supported for authenticated endpoints.
SSL Certificate Tracking
Certificate expiry is monitored independently of HTTP checks. Alerts trigger at 30, 14, 7, and 3 days before expiration. VantaStatus logs issuer, subject, SAN entries, and signature algorithm for each renewal cycle, giving DevOps teams a complete certificate lifecycle audit trail.
ICMP Ping Monitoring
ICMP echo requests are dispatched from three Russian probe locations every 60 seconds by default. Round-trip time, packet loss percentage, and standard deviation are recorded per interval. Baseline latency thresholds can be set per host, so a gradual degradation across Rostelecom or MTS networks triggers a warning before total failure.
DNS Resolution Checks
A, AAAA, MX, and CNAME record lookups run against public resolvers (8.8.8.8, 1.1.1.1) and Russian-backed resolvers (77.88.8.8, 77.88.8.1). VantaStatus flags IP changes, missing records, and TTL anomalies. DNS propagation after a nameserver migration is tracked automatically.
Status Page Widgets
Embeddable Iframe and JavaScript widgets display real-time uptime status, last incident timestamp, and 7-day availability percentage. Widgets support custom CSS variables, dark mode, and branded color palettes. The public page at status.vantastatus.ru shows aggregated component health for all monitored services.
Alert Integrations
Alerts route to Telegram bots, Slack webhooks, email, and generic HTTPS webhooks. Each channel supports escalation policies: if a Telegram message goes unacknowledged for 15 minutes, a Slack message fires, followed by email. Quiet hours and maintenance windows suppress notifications during planned maintenance.
SLA Reports
Monthly PDF and CSV reports break down per-service uptime percentage, mean time to detect (MTTD), mean time to recover (MTTR), and total incident duration. Reports include a timeline of all status transitions, grouped by severity (critical, degraded, resolved). Export endpoints support automated ingestion by ITSM tools.
API & Webhooks
A RESTful API lets you create monitors, fetch incident history, and update maintenance windows programmatically. Outbound webhooks fire on state changes with JSON payloads containing monitor ID, previous status, current status, timestamp, and probe source. Rate limits are 120 requests per minute per API key.
